FEPI, the European Federation of Nursing Regulators, represents the competent authorities for nursing across Europe and beyond the EU-25. Our main objective is to protect, maintain and promote the health and safety of the public by creating and maintaining the highest standards of competence and conduct by nursing professionals. Since its creation, in March 2004, FEPI has developed a solid relationship with EU Institutions and provided an important input into consultation processes developed by the European Commission, the European Parliament or the European Economic and Social Committee. FEPI advocacy work concetrates on: Patient Safety and Public/Consumer Protection Quality of healthcare services across the Internal Market Mobility of healthcare professionals Education, Training and Competences of nursing professionals FEPI is a member of CEPLIS, the European Council of the Liberal Professions, and is currently holding the presidency of the CEPLIS Health Working Group whose tasks are to reflect and propose new paths to European health policies, namely on issues relating to patient protection and health services in the Internal Market. FEPI develops its work trough a number of Working Groups, ETC (which stands for education, training and competences), Ethical codes and Regulation, all of which bring together nursing regulators and competent authorities as well as experts and nursing researchers at the European level.
