The Chamber of Nurses and Health Technicians of Serbia is an independent health association and national regulator for promoting interests of nurses, midwives and other health workers and safeguarding the health and wellbeing of the public. It was founded in June 2006 in Belgrade and consists of Head office and 6 branches covering all the territory of The Republic of Serbia.
Currently The Chamber has 70.250 members and ensures that they are properly qualified and competent to work in Serbia by setting the standards for their education and training. Serbian
Chamber is legally authorized for licensing nurses, midwives and other health workers and so far The Chamber has issued 67.139 licenses.
It also ensures that members of the Chamber keep their skill and knowledge up to date and uphold the standards of their professional Code. For those who may not have followed the Code, The Chamber has fair processes to investigate allegations made against its members and takes them to The Court of Honor.
The Chamber also appoints supervisors for conducting regular and irregular appraisals in order to identify and eliminate deficiencies in the performance of heath instructions. At the same time it
provides help both to members of The Chamber and citizens in cases of unprofessional and ethic misbehaving of heath workers.
