PRESIDENT, VICE-PRESIDENT AND TREASURER RECEIVED AS FELLOWS BY THE ROYAL COLLEGE OF SURGEONS IN IRELAND
The 2015 General Assembly meeting, kindly hosted by the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) in its prestigious premises in the heart of Dublin, has taken very important decisions for the life and future of the organisation: As of 2016 in fact, FEPI becomes officially the European Nursing Council (ENC). As FEPI before and with a renewed enthusiasm and determination, ENC will strive to become the voice of Nursing self-regulation towards the European institutions and the other associations representing the profession, with which it aims to have a fruitful collaboration. Its observer membership will be open to Universities and all specialised bodies with an interest in Nursing Regulation and Patient Safety. Thanks to a strategic partnership with the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI), ENC is hoping to invest in research, with the objective to produce evidence-based documents and positions that could advance Nursing Regulation and Patient Safety EU-wide and provide reliable information to national and European authorities.
After the Assembly, Ms Dragica Simunec, President of the ENC and past-President of the Croatian Regulatory Body for Nursing; Mr Mircea Timofte, Vice-president of ENC and President of the Romanian Regulatory Bod for Nursing; and Mr. Lampros Bizas, Treasurer of ENC and Treasurer of the Hellenic Regulatory Body for Nursing, were received as Fellows by the Nursing Faculty of the RCSI!
